MEET SPEECO
How it all started…
Speeco was founded in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, by Noah and Jules and is now solely owned by Noah. What started as a hobby grew out of a personal challenge: both being tall, they struggled to find aerobars that suited their needs. So, they decided to build their own.
Combining Jules’ expertise in carbon fibre manufacturing with Noah’s background in design, they made a strong team. After creating their first custom aerobar in 2020, they soon began receiving requests from other athletes facing similar challenges. What started as a personal project quickly evolved into a business focused on creating custom solutions for athletes.
MEET SPEECO
How it’s going…
In 2021, just one year after founding Speeco, the UCI decided the ABB1.0 was too revolutionary for them and disqualified Jan-Willem van Schip in the Belgiums tour. Not long after that, Kristian Blummenfelt got the first olympic gold medal using custom Speeco ITU bars in Tokyo.
In 2023, Jules moved on to design wheels for Scope, while Noah continued building Speeco around its original promise: “Making custom the new standard.” We replaced all carbon fibre production with metal 3D printing. Once an extremely expensive technology, our growing production volume finally made it possible to bring it to a wider market. This transition removed many of the limitations of custom carbon fibre manufacturing, including repeatability, scalability, mould sizes and the need for metal inserts.
In 2024, Noah decided to move to Bergamo, Northern Italy, for both business and personal reasons. With this move, Speeco became Speeco S.R.L, and a fresh Italian pizza became part of the experience when visiting our workshop for a measurement appointment!
Speeco continues to grow and evolve. Along the way, we’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible athletes, whose trust, feedback and achievements keep pushing us to improve, innovate and take custom manufacturing even further.
